Wakefield District City of Sanctuary grew out of a national grassroots movement and, in 2020, became a C.I.O. which aims to welcome sanctuary seekers and encourage their integration into wider society, to the benefit of all.

A Grand Day Out, Wakefield, is coming to the city centre on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August for a full weekend of free activities brought to you by Wakefield Council.

On Monday 20 June 2022 at 19.30 - during Refugee Week, the Production company Invisible Man will perform a one man show in English at the Walker Studio in the Wakefield Theatre Royal. (for age over 14 years)

We are happy to report that we had an excellent Garden Jubilee Jam. A great time was had by all, we gave up counting how many different nations were represented!
