Our allotment project is up and running!
This is to enable asylum seekers and refugees to have a place to grow vegetables and relax, socialise and learn about food growing practices in the UK.
So far, the people who have visited and worked on the allotment have really enjoyed it.
We are growing cabbages, tomatoes, climbing beans, and we are also attempting to grow the following:
Maize from Zimbabwe
Water Melons
Beans from Nigeria
Yam from Jamaica
There are plans to make meals from these ingredients in the kitchen in the “mudhouse” on the allotment site.
Bryan is doing a fine job in charge of our plot.
